My brother has been using a salt water unit for his pool for 10 years or more and loves it. I wanted salt for my above ground pool. Putting in my pool I did some research and decided the Goldline unit best fitted my needs. The main factor in my decision was the control panel: it included the timer, super chlorinate function and salt ppm monitor readout (I find the salt reading strips difficult to read) temp etc....
