I have a 27' above ground pool and have used the turtle a few years. It is very hard to get it started. It uses the return while pulling a bag behind it. The advantage to this is no dirt will go through your skimmer into your filter. The disadvantage is that it doesn't create any suction to pick the dirt up. It relies on the turtle pulling the bag. If your pool bottom is perfectly flat with no imperfections it works fine. However our pool bottom is not perfect so it misses most of the dirt.
