My husband is the dehumidifier expert in our family, so I can only go by what he says and what I observe.We have had this unit for only a week, so I cannot attest to it's longevity. But that it does what it's expected to do is beyond question. Our basement is very humid and the smell was getting to be pretty bad. Within 24 hours that musty, dank odor was eliminated. It's already taken about 10 gallons of water out of the air and made the basement dry and bearable.
